September 2012: Ferguson manages his 1,000th Barclays
Premer League match with United against Southampton. Two weeks later, he
wins his 100th game in the Champions League beating Galatasaray at Old
Trafford.
22 April 2013: United land a record 20th Barclays Premier League title with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
8 May 2013: United announce he will retire at the end of the season.
